I am considering a C7A2 rifle forgery for my next build.  For those that aren't familiar with the Canadian rifle, it looks different in that it uses a flat top upper, green furniture, telescoping stock, and uses an ambidextrous selector.  There may be a few other differences, but these are the most obvious on a cursory inspection.  My question is in regards to the buffer, since the rifle utilizes a full length gas system with a telescoping stock.  Does anyone know if Diemaco used a standard "M4" type buffer or did they design a different one for use with a full length gas system?  I suspect that it uses a modified buffer, but haven't been able to reference this information.

Thanks,

As the length of the gas system increases the pressures go down.  A rifle length gas system and a normal carbine buffer runs smooth as silk.

I have a tele stock on  my 20inch ar
I use different length setting for standing /prone  cold weather / warm weather  clothing
The spring is a kind of stiffer sins its not as long as normal (the spring tension starts out as like a normal riffle length spring ,but when you pull the charging handle you can at the end stroke feel its get stiffer)
If you use (very) weak rounds you MIGHT get short stroking  (no problems with Russian ammo )
If the stock is new you might have to run some round through it ,to break it in
But then its runs like a charm
I dont oil my spring sins there  is SOO much room for it that it only would catch more dirt

And now it fits in a short l gun case
