I recently obtained a KAC BUIS (the one with the flat post, if it matters). I was wondering if this will work with my RRA carbine. I have heard of different heights for front sight posts, and unfortunately I have been out of the AR community for a little bit just being busy. A quick google got me nowhere, so hopefully you guys can help. Will this BUIS work with my rifle with no modifications to either? Thanks, Tyler

If you have a rail that is the same height as the rail on your upper receiver it will work fine.

It's a rear sight. Not really sure what you were referring to so maybe I needed to clarify.

Ok.

The 308 ARs use a different rail height over bore then the AR15.  So if you use an AR15 rear sight, and a front sight that is the proper height for it(either a rail mounted AR15 front sight, a taller gas block front sight, etc), it will work fine.

The KAC 300m buis will work with all standard height front sights.

If you have a KAC 300m rear BUIS like mine shown in the above pic, it should work with your standard fixed front sights, you just have to try it first.

When you have your front sight post all the way up and still can't get it to zero properly, you could just get a 0.040" taller front sight post from either Bushmaster or M&A Parts.

I wish I could try it soon, but i'm deployed so...that won't be an option for a while. It's brand new and a friend didn't want it so I was just wondering so I would know if I should even bother with it. And yes it is that same model, but it has the adjustment to 600 meters.

This is the other model KAC 200-600m model which have adjustment to 600 meters.

Both my 300m and the 200-600m models are also available in new Micro models with smaller windage adjustment knobs and more compact base.

Hang on to them when you get back and if you can't zero it, try the taller front sight post and I'm sure it's going to work, if not maybe just sell it, the 200-600m models go for about $190 in brand new condition.
