Hello everyone.  I've been browsing these forums for awhile, but I've finally decided to take the plunge and get an AR15 before Osama possibly takes office.

I have a bunch of questions before I attempt to build my first AR15 and I'll try to keep them organized:

I'm most likely going to get a Spikes Lower.

1)I'm looking into possibly an RRA Upper from legal-transfers (I'm unsure between the Entry Tactical, Tactical CAR A4, Elite CAR A4, and the CAR A4) all of which can be found at: www.ar15sales.com/rrauppers.htm
2)I'm also considering getting the Stag 2H Upper found here: jobrelatedstuff.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=22&t=143647

All of the RRA Uppers are almost the exact same price once you add a rear sight (I'm thinking about an A.R.M.S 40L) with the Stag being only a little bit cheaper than the RRA's.  Which of the choices would you recommend and why?  Also, I know this is being superficial, but which manufacturer's Upper has a finish that most closely matches a Spikes lower?

I plan on getting a Magpul CTR Mil spec to go with my Spikes lower.  I've found the stock itself, but I've been having trouble finding the other parts necessary for it like the tube, spring and buffer.  Where can I get these for a good price?

Last but not least, are all LPKs created equal?  Do they all fit in a receiver the same, come with the same parts, etc?  I was thinking about getting the Bushmaster LPK since it is on sale right now, unless the Bushmaster LPK isn't as good as some others.  If you think I should get a different LPK, please tell me which one you recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to read this long post!  Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.  I'm going to give Spikes a call right now to order my Lower, and then hopefully I will place an order for an Upper in the next week or two once I get my next paycheck.

I would recommend the Stag upper and a Stag/CMT lower parts kit.

Stag uppers are all chrome lined and are generally lighter than RRA uppers (an RRA "lightweight" is actually the same weight as the Stag).

The Bushmaster LPK is probably just fine, if you can't get one of those go for the CMT.

All good stuff, can't go wrong with any of them.  None dramatically better than the other.

Thanks for the replies guys.  I'm probably gonna go with the Bushmaster LPK, since it's on sale.

As for the upper, if they're all about the same, then I will probably go with the Stag which will end up being about $75 cheaper when its all said and done.  I don't mind $75 for a better product, but if they're all equal, why not save it and spend it on some magazines and ammo!

Btw, ordered my Spikes lower! Can't wait to get it.
