What type of bullets are the Special Forces people using this cartridge using? What kind of velocities are they getting? What is the minimum fragmentation velocity? After fragmentation velocity will these bullets tumble? At 500 yards out of a 16" or 18" bbl,(probably beyond frag velocity) how far will they penetrate into ballistic gelatin? Out of a 16" or 18" barrel, what kind of average accuracy and bullet flight path can one expect? Thanks! |

While I'm not postive what the fragmentation floor is, the bullet is still fragmenting very well at 100m from a 10" barrel, and does the same past 200m from a 16" barrel. There are plans to perform this type of testing, but it's expensive and time-consuming, and getting ammo is difficult right now. I'm pretty sure the answers to your other questions are in the 6.8 SPC FAQ and in the Ammo Oracle. -Troy |
I for one look forwrd to such testing and would be happy to contribute to funding it. Are you speaking of our own B&T? |
