... what is the fit like between your Mega upper & your non-Mega lowers? I am a stickler for very tight fitting uppers & lowers. I know it doesn't effect anything, but I can't stand any rattle, wiggle or lateral play between the receivers. I hear Mega has a great rep. concerning their machining prowess & I was wondering if that translated into tight as a drum fitting uppers? Also, I would love to see a pic of some Mega M4 feed ramps. I'm wondering if they are small & shallow, like on CMT receivers, or are they wide & deep, like on LMT receivers? Thanks much. |

I am right with you on the tight fit thing for the same reason and is why most of my lowers are RRA. I looked into Mega for that same reason and also because my other anal thing is I like to use uppers and lowers from the same manufacturer when possible. Anyway, I never bought a set because from the research I did I found out that... A. Their uppers and lowers, if you put them together you'll have a pretty good shot at a good fit but if your going to mix and match, it's pot lock just like everybody else's stuff B. For some reason their uppers are not T-Marked and their "M4" cuts are shallow and weak just like CMT's Again, not personal experience, just stuff that I've determined from posts here. |

3 of my 5 AR15s use Mega lowers and Mega M4 uppers. 4th gun is a Bushy lower/LMT upper mutt, and the 5th gun is an Anvil Arms lower/CMMG upper mutt. a) All 3 Mega uppers and lowers fit tight when swapped between themselves. b) All 3 Mega uppers fit tight when swapped on to the Bushy and Anvil lowers. There is, however, a larger lower-to-upper gap when the uppers are on the Bushy lower. No rattle, however. c) All 3 Mega uppers have beautiful M4 feed ramp cuts which line up perfectly with the M4 feed ramps on my CMMG, LMT, and WOA barrels. |
Thanks for the info. Any pics ? |

Matched Mega upper and lower, took a sharp shake to dislodge the lugs. http://web.mac.com/supermarkus/iWeb/Site/AR-15%20Stuff_files/IMG_1433.jpg M4 cuts with a Sabre Defence middy barrel http://web.mac.com/supermarkus/iWeb/Site/AR-15%20Stuff_files/IMG_1478.jpg |
