I want to do a IDF clone build, and have determined that theses rifles are simply a rebarreled 653. I want to make my build as accurate as possible with a few exceptions.
I live in the DPRI so the barrel will have to be 16". I have a Colt Match Target lower (A2) for the build, and just don't have the heart/courage to grind down the buffer tube area. Now on to the questions.

Did the 653 have the full mag fence?

Is the mag release the newer type, or the one with the horizontal slots?

Am I right in thinking the saftey selector is the middle model without the hole, and smooth right side?

Did it have the A1 or later A2 style pistol grip?

Is the bolt release the same as the current style?

Was the stock Aluminum, or the later plastic type?

Would Colt Gray be the correct color?

Would the "tear drop" forward assist be correct?

Was the cover door the A1 or A2 type?

Is the current style front pivot pin correct for this rifle?

Sorry for so many questions, but I want the rifle to be as accurate as possibe. I know some of you will know the answers. if you can think of any specs for this rifle I may have left out please point them out.

Thanks camaro. I only have one pic to work off of, and it does not show much detail. Finding information on this model was proving to be quite a task.

height=8

I already have a genuine IDF sling for it . What is an "L" bracket mag holder?  I will have to pass on the Falcon sight. I never heard anything good about them, and the one I have seen for sale was going for big $$$ for a sight with a bad reputation.
