Ok I got a Colt lower in a trade today, so I am finally gonna put together a SOPMOD Block 1 clone. I'm trying to make this as accurate as possible, and I know most of what I need. However I do have two questions.
1. Will the KAC QD flash hider get a 14.5" barrel to 16" when pinned? (It looks kinda short in pics) 2. What would be an appropriate sling for the weapon? What would an Army infantry man actually have used with this weapon? Thanks ETA: I will be using the LMT SOPMOD buttock if it makes a difference for sling selection. |

What would be an appropriate sling for the weapon? What would an Army infantry man actually have used with this weapon? Any sling that you want to use. It's unlikely that a regular line infantryman would have used one. If you know what SOPMOD stands for then that will explain who uses these. I worded that incorrectly and understand that it would not be a regular army soldier. Does anyone know what slings are commonly used by SF, Rangers, Seals and such. |

"Commonly used" is pretty broad - it really is pretty much personal preference, a lot of different kinds of slings out there, it's whatever works best for you and whatever you prefer is probably "right." That being said, it'd be hard to go wrong with a VTAC, VCAS, S&S Precision, SoB, LBT, MagPul, etc. ~Augee |
