Borrowed an optic from soneone nice enough to loan it to me a couple of days. I think I will be buying a sight with a chevron/triangle shaped "dot"
Anyway - My understanding is that a 50 yard zero on a 5.56/.223 rifle crosses back down and is accurate again at 200 yards. If I zero the point of the triangle at 50 yards... Between the 50 and the 200 yard, the round will hit just a little high of the triangle point, right? Like, at 100 yards, it would be just a tiny bit higher than the point? And at less than 50 yards, I'd just cover the target with the complete triangle, right? |
| If you know your exact load, bullet, barrel length, etc, you can calculate the ballistics exactly, and know precisely where it will be at what distance. Most ammo manufacturers have ballistics information that will give you a pretty good idea for a given factory load. |
