| Whats a low priced QD scope mount that will seat my 3-9x40 scope over my Mbus rear sight. I can't find one that is cheap. I have no need of an expensive mount |

I agree with the view that QD return to zero capability is not available in cheap mounts. PEPR is perhaps the low end of return to zero, and there are some complaints about its true return to zero capability. Some users are happy with it, others not so. LaRue, ADM and Bobro are tried and true and a matter of preference. I like LaRue for the larger scopes that need long mounts and dual levers. I like ADM's single lever mounts for small optics. I have no experience with Bobro. I can say that my LaRue and ADM mounts are very sturdy, duty ready and reliably return to zero within 1/4 MOA on my precision rifles, which is just about within my margin of error in detecting POI shift.
On bolt guns where a cantilever mount is not needed, my almost universal choice now is the steel Talley QD lever rings and bases. They are not cheap, at about $115 or so for the rings and another $30-45 for the bases. They have dual lugs fore and aft on the bases that sandwich the very precisely machined rings. They can be used with the levers or with supplied torx screws. Either way it is a true, accurate, repeatable return to zero on a bolt gun that is tapped for separate bases and may need to either swap out a different, pre-sighted scope or access iron sights. Precision costs money, sorry. |
