| Ok after reading through all 34 pages on what sling to buy I've got it narrowed down to a Gear Sector or Blue Force Vickers two point sling, just haven't decided which one yet. I can't decide if to get quick disconnect or just loop it through the fwd sling attach point and stock attach point. I have a six position stock. Which quick disconnects are best. My rifle has rails. I prefer the quick disconnect (QD) on my ARs because I could change to different slings, like my Vickers, padded Vickers, Gear Sector, and padded Viking Tactics-LaRue slings.
I prefer Daniel Defense rail QD sling mount because they have a rotation limiter that prevents the sling from being twisted and tangled, also it is of high quality. As for the heavy duty push button QD sling swivels there are many brands available with different prices like KAC, Vltor, Daniel Defense, Blue Force Gear, Uncle Mike's, etc. The differences of the sling swivels are the size of the release push buttons and the finish, I prefer the large push buttons but some might like the smaller size. There are two finishes also gloss black and flat dark gray, take your pick, I prefer the gray ones (KAC and Vltor are gloss black). |
| Ok you guys like the QD type mount and that is what I was leaning toward,so you helped me solved another piece of the puzzle. I just looked at the new Magpul sling and it is apealing to me too. I'm not in law enforcement or the military just your everyday guy who loves to hunt and shoot but I also go buy the addage " Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it" . Thanks for your replies. MC |
