I am going to buy one of the CMMG bargin bin rifles with my bonus check at the end of the month and had some questions for you experts here. I personally have very little expereince with AR type rifles so anything I may need to know let me know please. This is going to be a range and part time hunting rifle. I have a Remmy 870 and XD 45 for home defence so this will sit in the safe when not in use. 1. Is the Chrome lined barrels worth the extra money? I clean my weapons everytime b4 I go to the range as a preinspection and again when I get back I also wipe down and inspect my weapons peridocally between range trips. 2. What is the difference between M4 style and the HBAR? Pros Cons of each. I am wanting a 16" barrel 3. 1-7 twist vs 1-9? This is going to be mainly a range gun to shoot cheep wolf or surplus ammo and maybe a little huntung of these small GA whitetail and cyotes. 4. Where is the best place to get a new removable carry handle to replace the one that is not there on these bargin bin rifles? Thanks again anything else that I may need to consider is appracaited. |

1st off, use your 'search' feature and check out the tagged threads--these same questinons get asked VERY often, and you will get lots of diff opinions already stated 1: imo, CL is worth the extra cash--easier to clean, more corrosion resitant, and an avg of twice the bbl life 2: M4 bbls are govt profile (lighter) and have the M203 notch cut on the front pros: lightweight and balance well cons: faster to heat up, but only a problem due to extensive, long bouts of rapid fire HBARs are heavy under the HGs pros: takes longer to heat up cons: not balanced as well imo 3: 1-7 is best for heavier bullets, say 55gr+; 1-9 will stabablize just about any bullet out there, but best for 45grs--low 70s grs read this: ammo.ar15.com/ 4: imo, the EE like i said, these same questions are asked all the time and all the answers are fully explained in the several tacked threads in each forum |
