Would you rather use a never used marked up Spikes upper with double T marks and a botched laser print of the spider or a brand no marks Anderson upper for a new build?

Any advantage from the Spikes?  Would the marks and double print T marks and logo bother you?

Both upper would cost the same. What would you do?

Probably Spikes. Do you have a picture?

Edit: There likely isn't much of a difference between the two. If they are both in-spec they will function fine. I would pick the Spikes just to have the blemish.

Edge to Spike's. Their blems are usually GTG.

I once had an out of spec Anderson upper.  The pic rail was undersized and attachments would not properly attach.  Compound that with other small parts from Anderson that I have had out of spec...I would never use them again.

SPIKES BLEM

Thanks guys for the replies. The Spikes upper is growing on me already.  I just didn't want to barrel the thing and then regret it.

The following is totally subjective opinion, and you know what they say about opinions - so YMMV.

Don't own an upper from either one - several Colts, a BCM, a CMMG, a PWA (from the 80's), an FN, an NDS and a C7-type that based on forge codes is apparently a USGI replacement but the minority opinion is it could be a Bushmaster.  None of the above have any markings on the upper beyond forge codes. Me personally, I'd avoid an upper with some logo on it like the plague, just because it looks cheesy.  I mean, would you want to be running around Da Nang or The Mog or Helmond with a spider or a Hello Kitty or something on your rifle?

I'm considering an Anderson lower and buffer tube kit just because they are the cheapest I can find in stock on line, to slap together a Franken-AR out of all the loose parts otherwise accumulated since my first build in 1989 - as a training rifle for my 14 yo son.  For that application I'd go with whatever was cheapest (even a Hello Kitty, except for fear the boy would refuse to shoot it), which as of today just happens to be Anderson.  For a serious application (home defense, LE patrol carbine, going to exotic foriegn lands to meet exotic foreigners and kill them, doing the Red Dawn thing, the zombie apocalypse, etc... ) I would not go with Anderson or Spikes (or CMMG), and if that's all I could afford I'd go with an AK instead of an AR.

I have a few Anderson uppers, lowers,  and reciever extensions -all good to go here. Not one problem yet, and I will keep buying them until there is a problem. Are they "cool" and "envied" by your friends? Probably not. But I'm out to shoot, not wow the masses. Buy the one you want,  if you're too OCD to deal with the blem it makes it easier. Just my opinion.

Aero precision. Good product, good value. Don't have to shop for blems or andies. You can buy them in matched sets which I like very much. Last stripped set I bought around Christmas 14 for $150.

You are the only one that can make that decision. If the wacky logo doesn't bother you, why does it matter what others would do or think?
