Neil, I used one with a 2 MOA Comp M3 in the Texas State 3-Gun in San Angelo last weekend. The Samson mount works well, I also used the right-side one. No brass issues. I still need to try it with an 4 MOA Comp M2 and see how it does at 3-400 yards. The 2 MOA one works fine. If I know I am facing a lot of longish shots versus contact distance stuff, a TA11 is still faster and easier to shoot accurately. This combo is superior between 20-100 yards though. |

The Quick Flip looks like an excellent piece of equipment. Another thing to add to the wish list ( along with the 3x magnifier). Alittle off topic- That's a very nice carbine you put together Neil. Do the LMT SOPMOD stocks come in different colors or is that something you did yourself? Also wondering the same thing about the magpul triggerguard. Also was curious as to which rail system are you using? |
I'm running out of receivers for all of these different optics set ups!
Phew! Thanks for saving me some money. Question for Neil on these types of course of fire: Would have you been faster with your ACOG in the long run- or any more accurate? |

LMT stocks come in black only. Mine has gotten the Krylon treatment. Magpul trigger guards ARE available in colors, but only IF you use the MIAD grip and use the plastic trigger guard that fits with the MIAD grip. The one on this rifle is their aluminum trigger guard (available only in black), also with the Krylon treatment. The FF rail is the RAS II. I probably would have been faster using my ACOG, but that may very well be because I have been using it so long. This was my first time with this combo. My TA31 has, what seems to me, to be a MUCH wider FOV than the Aimpoint + magnifier. I have not looked at each side by side to compare though. ACOG image is also much more bright, clear and crisp. The view through the magnifier + aimpoint is a little yellow, probably because Im looking through 4 peices of glass? I dont know. But, if you have an Aimpoint, I would get the magnifier + flip mount for it. It does a lot for the Aimpoint. My two optics of choice were always the ACOG and the Aimpoint. I liked them both best over anything else. The magnifier just makes me like my Aimpoint even better. |

We have a Leupy CQT at the moment for T&E and while it is heavier than a EOtech, it's lighter than the aimpoint/Eotech, mag and flip combo, neater and takes up a little less space. Also cheaper but admittedly doesn't go for a bazilllion hours per battery. Unless you're planning not to cart a spare...this is a non-issue IMO. |
| I know there are a group of folks who really like the CQT, but I never really liked them at all. Its feild of view was small (very small), the reticle did not light up very brightly( even on high), battery life was pretty poor and the mount was very bad. I am curious what the weight difference between the two set ups all in all. The 3x mag + Aimpoint combo is heavy, but so it the CQ/T. |
