Nightforce NXS 1-4. ETA, I chose the NF because IMO they are the best bang for your buck in optics. I chose a 1-4x because it offers true 1x for close work, and has enough magnification to get out to 400-500 yards when necessary. +1 The ability to run 1x (or close) at close ranges is very very usefule. The 4x is nice for mid range work. 1-4x or ACOG, both would be very good options. |

Not sure if I want to venture in to 10x realm, but this is definitely useful info which is making me think twice. |

Leupold 1.5-5x Mark 4 MR/T M2 (TMR illum reticle). More accurate that I am! http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b328/jcrowl/000_0086.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b328/jcrowl/000_0092.jpg You don't find the 1.5X to be a bit disorienting at close ranges? |

Go with the NF buy once, cry once. I bought an acog for mine in Jan ended up putting it on my 14.5 and buying the NF for my recon Was the ACOG put on the 14.5 because it didn't benefit the longer shot of the recon or because it benefited the shorter range of the 14.5? What magnification was it? |
| both, I was going to stick a magnifier behind an aimpoint on the the 14.5 and thought to myself––-damn thats dumb, get a NF for the Noveske and stick the Acog on the LMT and thats what I did. The accuracy potential from the Noveske recon really likes the NF btw its a 2.5-10x24 with the fc-2 reticle. at 2 power its easier to use for CQB than the 4x acog. and I can still dial it up if I want. To me it was the best of both worlds. with the shortage of 10x24 NF I would go to a 1-4 if I had to do it again. |
