Thinking about reloading my own ammo. Like my muzzelloader I like to test with ballistics, weight, and properties. Wether using pure lead to wheel weights. My question is what all would I need to do this. Casings I know but is there other items? What kind of powder? Or is it even really worth it. My neighbor is a cop and he told me that there PD is reloading their own range ammo. But know their duty ammo is factory, I would hope to say so at least. I really appreciate the help. Also primers and everything. |

The above post was written with re-loading of cartridges using smokeless powder in mind. ____________________________________________ Some of the advice is also fine for BP (black powder) cartridge re-loading. But, "loose" black powder firearm re-loading, is another subject. One of the best places I know of........to learn about shooting black powder (loose and cartridge) firearms......is SASS. Check if there is a club near you. www.sassnet.com/index.php At the local club, find a willing "mentor" that can help you. Those folks have a high reguard for shooters of the "Holy Black."
