There is a reason they are the cheapest. I bought my first kit from them. The gun would not fire, the head space was so great the bolt wouldn't capture the round, the round would drop too far into the chamber. After much to-do, I finally got in touch with them and got a RMA to send it back. I had to pay shipping and insurance which they would not reimburse. So the few dollars I saved on buying the cheapest gun was lost on the return shipping. The replacement gun although fired did not function properly. It was way over-gassed. I checked the gas port on the barrel and it was way oversized .139". I think they use seconds to build their guns. The moral of this story is: Avoid Blackthorn |

PSA seems to have good prices when they have them in stock. I am just about finished with a build using one of there rifle kits. I got the chrome lined premium kit and used a sssa lower I picked up locally. I have not had a chance to take it to the range yet.
It took about two weeks to get it once ordered. |

| I have never used Del-tons rifle kit. I have built 6 other rifles with Del-tons barrel kits. I could not be happier. Barrels are very accurate, customer service is great and cant beat the price for a barrel kit. I know they have free shipping some months and they have daily deals once in a while. If I ever build a rifle kit it will be with Del-Ton! |

I haven't purchased anything from Classic Firearms in a while, but this seems like a descent price. |
IIRC they have "High Grade Barrels" and don't believe in chrome lined since theirs will last 100,000 rounds untreated and not lined.
Ooops,they rate their 4140 cold rolled steel barrels at 150,000 rounds. They don't use chrome lined since most AR's barrels don't either.
