I am considering using the RRR complete rifle kit as my first build. I plan on trying to get aRRA lower at the next show to complete it.

Is this a good way to go or are there better build kits out there?

Thanks for any info and suggestions

The Stag Arms kits are good too, if they're any cheaper it'd be worth it.  Same quality, possibly cheaper price.

you can get a stag/cmt receiver for $105 shipped from denny at www.globaltactical.com

I just did my first build & went with RRA & I'm glad I did.  The only realy downside I've found is the really long wait for availability of parts.

Either Stag or RRA would be a great first build kit.

That said, you do lose some of the fun by not piecing together the rifle you want.  Unless you're more of the "it's just a tool" variety.  Then yes, it's a great way to start.
