I Would think that after the AWB ends they will be ready to release their "Gov version" (or whatever the name becomes). THey would be crazy not to, it is all about marketing, and that they beat out the big boys for a Gov contract is big news. I think we'll see it. |
| Would be nice but I believe the DEA/FBI rifles have a 14.5" barrel that is not M4 profile. I couldn't find the DEA/FBI barrel in RRA's catalog or on their website so don't know if they will even offer it to civilians. Seems like we can never easily purchase the really cool stuff. |
| like Mustang6 said, they show it in "swat magazine" nice big color pic too. i would imagine that it would come tricked out with all that stuff. they didn't act like it was extra for the light, etc. my RRA entry tac is ordered so i'm not worryin' about it-my ole lady shut down the gun fund for a while. try to email them. it'll prolly take them forever, i hear they aren't great with email from some people. give it a try. tell the the ar15.com boys wanna know. |

*Snicker* I'm stationed in cali my home of records is DE. I'm all kinds of happy about that. I place the order with my FFL back home, fly out when he gets it in do the paperwork, he makes the call, 9 out of 10 times I'm flying back to this shit hole state with the weapon the same day.I used to live in Frederick MD btw, dont miss it much other than the fact that cali sucks a big cat furball Slugo, thats great thanks, I saw in SWAT they said it would be 2200 for the package, containing EOTech site, Surfire quad rail, Surefire weapon light, back up sights, weapon cleaning kit, weapon case...... I would be happy with the rifle the light the rail and the eotech personally. If you have more info on what is included for that price I would love to hear it, also if you want to place an order is it the "Government rifle package" or ?! Thanks for the help guys. Semper Fi |

Is the RRA 16 barrel contoured under the hanguards but without the M4 grenade cut in the front? If so, you are better off buying a M4 barrel and building your own for a lot less than $2200 package from RRA (probably closer to 1850 for your own personal build with better parts). You are paying premium for the Surefire handguards and the 952 light. Just my humble opinion. Stan RRA lower with pre/post carbine stock 300 LMT M4 16 with DD FF 7.0 700 (approx. from MSTN special) Surefire NOT free-floating so less 100 RRA B/C and CH 120 RRA rear buis 100 Surefire 952 250 Eotech 552 400 (don't know if the RRA comes with 552 or 512) Tango Down vertical grip 60 (optional cause the RRA has no vert. grip) total: 1870 with no grip and another 100 less for a non free float handguard (Surefire, YHM) You most certainly can build a comparable lookalike for about 1770..430 hundred less than RRA retail. I second deltaopwong's suggestions- buy from the dealers here at E&E forum or assemble your own. That way you will get higher quality parts cheaper. I would wait til September to get an 14.5" M4 LMT barrel (which has the more flexible 1/7 spin instead of RRA 1/9) with a permanently attched Vortex flashhider. Since the DEA buys 14.5" barrels (with flashhider I am pretty sure) you will get a more original overall look too. |
Warning that would be a CA felony. If you get caught transporting or shooting it w/o the registration papers the best you can hope for is they will confiscate the rifle. Keep the rifle in storage in AZ or DE. |

The price is 1600 for the package as stated above not 2200. I have all kinds of parts laying around so a vertical grip is not an issue rifle will be registerd or kept in the safe depending. I only have a few more months in this state anyway before I get shipped to the next post. the odds of the ban sunseting are not great, the odds of the ban getting resigned are just as good a posibility, and the odds of a far worse ban getting signed are high if Kerry the anti-military anti-gun freak gets elected. Dont get caught with your pants down guys. Buy what you can now, whats the worse that can happen you have a few extra barrels or uppers laying around? |
