Can anyone post pics of how the RRA mag block should sit when installed correctly?  Should the top of the mag block be more or less flush with the top of the lower receiver? Or with bolt forward, should you insert mag block till ejector touches the bottom of bolt, then tighten?

It only has to line up with the mag release insert the adaptor and make sure the mag release operates freely and then tighten the screw and your ready to go. MGP

When inserted, mine has quite a bit of play up and down. I had problems with the rifle right off the bat, and it went back to RRA. They said my mag block was sitting too high, therefore causing my malfunctions...that's why I ask this question. I have enough play to let the block sit above, flush, or below the top of the lower receiver...

I just turn the rifle upside down, push the mag release, drop in the block, and tighten it where it sits.  If I open it up after that, the block is flush with the top of the lower.

Here's a pic I took of the bolt to ejector fit...okay or too high???

I just installed mine until the mag catch linked up w/ the block...
By the way, I took my AR out for its inaugural shoot & was pleasantly surprised at its 100% reliability!

That is fine.. if you actually look at the bolt face, you will see that COLT did not leave any room for ejector error, as it has minimal contact with case, so you need to be sure the ejector is high and to center of bolt to get max contact to tap the case out the port.

Shot it today with lots of malfunctions! Used WWB and Fiocchi...don't know if it's the mag block position, the mag block itself, my Colt mags??? I'm tempted to ditch the RRA mag block and get a dedicated Hahn, and ditch the Colt mags and get the C-Products when they ship...don't know if any or all of that would help!?!?!?

Here's the kind of jams I keep having...

You can ditch them colt mags over here

I may take you up on that if you're interested! My rifle just doesn't seem to like them...

If I were to guess, I would say your mag block it too high and the bolt is riding the mag feedlips, causing it to slow down and not fully eject.

I had alot of problems with my RRA setup (all RRA, but not purchased as a factory rifle) until I found the sweet spot (block is basically flush with the top of the lower) then I drilled a hole through the lower and the front of the mag block and tapped the hole in the magblock....inserted screw. Done deal.....works 100%. Now when by buddy "Smacks" the mag in, the block doesn't raise and cause problems.

It may seem extreme to some, but it looks just fine and it functions perfect...all the time.

My second 9mm build has a Hahn dedicated top loading block.....no issues with block movement.

I'm seriously considering switching over to the Hahn dedicated block. I can hand cycle dummy rounds through it all day long, but when I shoot it, the malfunctions begin.

Looking at those photos, I'd say not to ignore the possibility of it being buffer-related.

This is where my thoughts have been as well. I can take dummy rounds and hand cycle them through all day long. I'm wondering if I need a reduced power buffer spring? From the way the jams look, it appears that perhaps the bolt is just coming back enough to "tap" the shell off the bolt face, but not enough to forcefully eject the case?

You need to bend the ejector (bend it up in the pic) so it's almost rubbing the bolt. The side of the ejector needs to be as close to the bolt as possible.

You stated previously that you're using a  RRA bolt... look at the pin or whatever is holding the extractor.  You want a roll pin to hold the extractor in place.

[#18]
You are having extractor problems...the A#1 biggest malfunction problem with 9mm ARs....having an adapter that doesn't sit in one place is another problem....being held in with pure tension is OK for quick change rifles and short playtimes but they will sooner or later they will move.  The Hahn adapter is locked in the middle of the receivers and cannot move out of position.

Don't get too frustrated, once you get up and running you'll have more fun with a 9mm than any thing else you have.

Well RRA sent out a call tag and RA# for it today...this is its second time back! We'll see what happens!? If it still runs horrible when I get it back, I guess I'll be buying a dedicated top loading Hahn block, and some C-product mags...
