I've been considering building an upper specifically for prairie dogs, and I found a RRA .204 upper with the 24" stainless 1-12" bull barrel at a great price. How does their accuracy compare to DPMS, WOA, etc.? The price on this is hard to beat, but regardless of price, I'll be disappointed if I can't load something that shoots 3/8 or at least 1/2" at 100yds. Is it reasonable to expect that kind of accuracy with the RRA upper? I didn't even RRA offered them til the last couple weeks, have the ybeen out long enough to have any kind of reputation? Thanks! Oh, another quick question - are CCI BR4 bench rest primers ok for .204 or will they pierce? I have thousands of them, that's why I ask. |
| I have not shot the 204 in a rra, but their varmint 223 barrels are superb shooters, 1" should be absolutely no problem, I would guess in the .750 range. I have 2 custom 204 ar15s and they both shoot about .5". I use br4 primers, they are the thick cup style like magnum. |

I read somewhere they guarantee 0.75" but I'm hoping they are capable of better. I also haven't found that guarantee on their website. Post in the RRA Industry forum and ask Steve (RRAMODERATOR) about the MOA guarantee. I have a LAR-8, totally different rifle I know, 16" bbl and it'll hold under MOA @ 100yds if I do my part. |
