I think that's a "for the money" question. If BCM/LMT are $135 and you can save $30 with something else, I would not do so. The bolt will likely be inferior, the insert will likely be blue instead of black, the carrier key may need re-staking, etc. If you got a package deal with the other brand BCG included, for a difference of, say, $50, then it's your call. I did just that when buying a CMMG, then went ahead and restaked the key. I'm O.K. with the blue since I don't have a carbine-length gas system. YMMV. I used the saved $50 toward a back-up bolt from BCM ($65), and now I feel I have a serviceable carrier and back-up bolt, while running the BCM as my primary bolt. But if you're just shopping around for a BCG--DPMS, RRA, etc.--just ante up the extra few bucks for a BCM/LMT, and you'll never regret it.
