I ordered a CAR A2 back before Thanksgiving, and still don't have it. I called them and it seems the delay is the barrel. I ordered the M4 chrome-lined barrel, instead of the standard barrel and therein lies the holdup. Anyone else experiencing this? Also, are those Wilson chrome-lined M4 barrels RRA uses made from 4140 or 4150 steel?

I ordered a rifle with a chrome-lined barrel a little after you did and it was waiting for a barrel just like yours. My rifle was shipped today so hopefully yours will be soon as well.

Hello All,  First let me say this is my first post....lurker for quite some time, but virgin no more....

Yeah, RRA, like others, are behind on orders.  I just got mine from them this week and I ordered it sometime in mid September....

I am extremely happy with the rifle.  My first AR and I fear it is just the first of many more rifles of black...

later,

Cavu

Just an update if anyone is interested - I called RRA on Monday (1/31)...still waiting on the M4 chrome lined barrel, they said this call that it would be another two weeks - 12 weeks total wait. They said 100% of delay is in the barrel - the maker can't keep up with demand! If I had gone with the standard barrel I'd have my rifle by now - but, since I wanted a chrome-lined barrel, and since I have heard nothing but glowing reviews of their products, I figure it's worth the wait; especially since I've been waiting 10 weeks already!

Also a lurker here.

I ordered mine on November 21.  Recieved it January 19th.  Mine was a Tactical CAR A4 no ban with stainless steel barrel and hogue free float tube.  If I could only keep one of my many guns I own, it would be my new RRA.

I just ordered a complete upper.  They said 10 weeks.  Then I said I wanted the barrel bead blasted.  They couldn't say when to expect it.  Hope it is here by summer.

A dealer friend ordered 20 RRA stripped lowers in the latter part of September 2004.  He was told it would be 6 to 8 weeks.  He's going on 16 weeks now with NOTHING!  When he calls RRA, they tell him they are focusing on complete rifles, and they'll get to stripped lowers whenever they are caught up on complete rifles.  Yeah, like that is going to happen.  What a bunch of crap.  They also said he wouldn't receive all 20 at one time, but would probably get them in batches of 4 or 5.

I had claim on two of those lowers, but I've since ditched that idea and went with a local supplier.....
