I was looking to buy an RRA complete lower here locally. when i looked at it i noticed that this one doesnt have the rra symbol(cross hair) around the name, just says rock river arms and the serial number. CAn anyone guesstimate how old this is?

If it's the old "Cleveland, IL" address, it was made in '03 at the latest.  We moved into Colona, and adopted the new cross hair logo in June/July of '03, but were still using up the last of the "Cleveland" lowers (along with the new ones)for a couple/few months past then.  We also sold a few new rifles with the old stamping in late '05/early '06 when we redid all of our showroom display rifles with the new logo (most already had it) and special serial numbers (none had them prior).

I wish you guys would go back to the old "text" rollmark. I just like the "all business" look. The "old school" lower on my duty rifle is my favorite. I wish I could pickup another somewhere for my A2 clone.

Question for Steve from RRA,

My "old style Cleveland" lower also has printing on the right side....."Intended for law enforcement and military use only" (or something close to that). Was this lower truely only for LEO/military use?   Is it somehow different from other RR lowers?

THANKS
Bob

Bob,
It was made during the ban for LE/Gov't use only (at that time, per the requirements of the AWB).
