2 stage model in which the first stage is slick and easy, then the second stage breaks like the proverbial glass rod.  No problem unless you don't shoot and notice that the trigger doesn't reset to the forward position.  It is sort of acting like a single set trigger.

Suggestions for the hang up?  Trigger spring appears of normal strength, unit is clean and free from debris.  If the upper is off and the hammer is held safely and depressed the trigger will return under it's own power.  The hammer spring is a bear to install, but I am used to Jewell triggers, a different mechanism.

Help appreciated.

Did you install it? A lot of trigger springs are put on coiling backwards and cause what you are describing.

I believe the trigger spring is installed properly as it functions correctly unless it has engaged the hammer.

Have the same problem, PLUS the break on mind is NOT glasslike...more like ground glass and a stupid hard pull.  I'm still trying to get through to Rock River.  I've emailed, posted on their forum, IMed, called.  Phone is busy, no reply to other contacts.

I have tried RRA for over a month, no joy.  Now I feel that I will DIY fix.  This forum seems more experienced and knowledgable than the manufacturers!

If you are positive it is assembled properly ; Take it apart, put a q tip in your portable drill with some jb or other compound and polish the bluing out of the trigger and hammer bores. Polish the face
of the disconnector where the hammer contacts it for the second stage break. You can also put a piece of 1000 grit paper on a small flat piece of steel and polish the sear surfaces. (keep it very
level and don't go for every imperfection, just enough to smooth the surface )  Push the disconnector back with your thumb several times and see if it is smooth. I have heard of ones that aren't.
If I remember the spring is larger at one end and can bind if installed upside down. If it's rough drive out the pin and correct it. Flush everything with carb cleaner, grease and assemble.

I had the same problem. I found a post on this several months ago. It said too much sear engagement. A couple of strokes with a jewelers file and everything's golden. If you cant find the post I can shoot you a pic of area to file. Bob

The post had pics. You do not actually file the sear engagement surfaces.

The thread I found solved the problem by filing/polishing the selector flat.

finished installing my RRA 2-stage and am having the same problem.

if i seperate the upper and lower, drop the hammer, hold the trigger and then reset the hammer manually it does click and reset... but, with the upper installed the same doesn't happen when i drop the hammer and cycle the bolt to reset. the disconnector seems to be working because when i let go of the trigger for it to reset and sort of 'help' it (the trigger) forward with a slight bit of pressure it resets.

I fail to see how filing the selector flat could effect the trigger resetting, it stops the trigger from pulling through any further. As has been stated the coil spring for the trigger is most likely
upside down. It's a very easy mistake to make and easy to overlook.

I made this mistake once before.  You could be right.  The OP should post a photo of his FCG.

i fixed my problem... the bit of the hammer spring that rests upon the trigger pin was the problem. it wasn't resting against the outside of the reciever but was resting between the coils of the spring below. when i moved it out to be against the edges of the pin, resting against the reciever, it fixed the issue i was having.
