Just put a couple RRA lowers together with RRA LPK's, I usually build with all Colt parts, but in building the RRA's, they just fell together, pins started and went in much too easily and the trigger guard fit so loosely it rattles beyond what I would have thought.

Am I being too critical? I really dont like a rifle that rattles this bad.

I used a Colt upper and the fit was rediculous, so I measured the the forward pivot pin gap where the upper reciever lug fits and found that all my Colt's, PWA's and LMT's are .501-.502 where my two RRA's are .504

Does RRA tend to be on the upper end of the tolerence measurements with all their machine work?

Not intended to be a slam on the RRA's but I expected more.

Someone please convince me that these are better than I'm thinking they are. I used to believe that RRA always built a rifle that was on the edge of being too tight

My first RRA (341XX) is .502" and my second one (452XX) is .503".

I'll measure my Oly and Superior Arms lower to see how they compare and report back.

WIZZO

EDIT: Olympic from 2003 is .502" and early Superior Arms (0006X) is actually .498"

Hope this helps.

Got to love it when the site drawing for the ears distances calls for .500, +.000/-.004.

Some how I think over the years the whole thing got switched to +/- .004 to allow civilian variances in pre-anodizing bed blasting and anodizing build up.  Real funny part is that RRA keeps the inside of the shelf cut to the min, so why not between the ears as well (read most front take down tabs average around .497 anyway, and have yet to see one over .500).

just got back from the gun store. I just got a new RRA upper from ADCO an tried on 4 different lowers from RRA at the store to find the best fit and they all needed a tool to pry them apart...Extremely tight lock up! NO play whatsover..

I only buy RRA recievers from now on...All my budies have mixed parts like Armalite and bushmaster.....dont even compare...they all use accuwedges!
