| I know this has been beaten to death, but I am fairly new around here and didn't see it. I searched for a similar topic with no luck. Which brand do you all prefer? I was kind of set on an MP15X but at this point I am thinking I should take what I can get especially if it is an RR. Which model RR would you recommend besides a pro-model? |

If it's an older S&W (when they were made my cmt/stag) then they are about equal and both a good choice in my opinion. If its a new S&W made in house then I would definitely prefer the S&W as it is now somewhere between the 1st and 2nd tier ARs and better quality than the RRA (below Colt, LMT, Bravo Company, and Noveske but above RRA, Stag, Bushmaster, etc.). If you want the best information though read the thread about what breaks in a carbine course. I would say anything you see written by Pat Rogers is the best advice you will find seeing that he has more experience than anyone on here and people respect him as one of the most knowledgeable in the business. |
| Thanks for the information, I plan to keep it simple so I figured the short handguard will be fine for me (I am a broke college student and I don't want to depend on electronics anyway) Both rifles would be new, but the problem is that the RR will be in the store in the next few weeks and there is no telling when I could get the MP. I am not even sure what models from RR he will have all I know is that they are all priced near $1k. Thanks again. |
