[ARCHIVED THREAD] - R-15

Does anyone know just for informational purposes what the trigger weight is on the Remingtons/Bushmaster R-15, looked at the website and no such information is given, any ideas?

HEAVY......... probly close to 7 or 8lbs. although thats just a guess from shooting my buddiies R-15 the other day. all mine are 3lb bill springfield enhanced.

Per The Complete Rifleman, 2009: "factory set at 4.5 - 5 pounds"

Per a review on shootingtimes.com: 4# 6 oz.

Per the Guns & Ammo Book of the AR-15 2008: "factory set at 4 1/2 pounds"

Mine measures at 4 3/4 pounds.

I don't think R-15 triggers are "set" at all. I have heard that some are very happy with their stock triggers, but mine pretty much sucked. I didn't need to check it with my trigger pull gauge, was long, creepy and heavy. I thought of sending it to Remington to make it right, but if they couldn't do it the first time?
Just went with a 3# Timney, and altho it has a very tiny bit of creep, it is now acceptable.
I'm thinking it's just "luck of the draw".
