I think I've settled on my next light with the Ra Clicky. My questions are for those who have one or more of these lights and can help me with the options. I'm mainly concerned about the different LED power, beam width, and color option.
Option 1: 140 Lumens with wide beam pattern. I'm thinking this is the way I'll end up going as my main expected purpose for this light will be close range use and target identification. But... Option 2: 140 Lumens with wide beam pattern, same as above, except this one costs $40 more and comes with a pure white tint guarantee. Why does this matter? Is it worth $40 more? I've read about the whiteness of the light before but I never got why it is important. Option 3: 140 Lumens with narrow beam pattern. This is the least likely option for me since the narrow beam would be better for lighting something up at a distance and my main concern is up close. Option 4: 170 Lumens with narrow beam pattern. This also costs $40 more. Now I know I said that I thought the wide beam is the direction that I wanted to go, but this option is 30 Lumens brighter than all the other options. Do I want this instead? Thanks for your help in making the final decisions on what appears to be a terrific light. |
| Your eyes most likely won't be able to see a difference between the 140 and 170 lumens. LED tint is only a factor for flashlight gurus. The average person won't care about whether one is cooler or warmer. Personally I'd go with the narrow beam as this still has quite a bit of useful sidespill. The wide beam is very floody and may not put enough light directly where you want it. Just my 2 cents. |
