Please help me to understand why I would not want to get this (http://www.glocksbr.com/axami/shop.php?grd=102&prd=104) for a cheaper Rail system, than other more expensive Rail systems? I am trying to understand, and I know the ARMs system is a complete system, but for $350+, please help me to understand. Is the above just a cheaper, dont bother its going to break or not work the way I want it too, or is it in fact functional and I would be fine with this purchase? THanks.... ReaperVelle |

Something like a SIR soes a lot more than just give you a rail. If you want or need all that it offers is only a question you can answer for yourself. Here's a good read that might help you to decide if you want or need all the advantages of a SIR or not. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=153879&w=searchPop |

Yet again, this is what I needed. Knowledge....ahh yes....Do I need a SIRs, no, Do I still want a SIRs, Possibly (Looks and Function baby :) For now, all I really need is a grip and light so I will probally order the cheaper rail from www.glocksbr.com, the flatop should be able to mount optics from there (Im assuming) when $$ allows. Thanks all |

With this rail system, you can only have the rails mounted in the 12 and 6 o'clock position. You are certainly not going to mount the light in the 12 position, are you? That would leave the foregrip and light mounted on the 6 position rail and would interfere with the sling swivel, unless you use a side sling adapter. If you turn the handguards to the 3 and 9 o'clock position to position the light on the side, your foregrip is now on a lateral axis. |
