I'm trying to put on a Knight's Armament rail system on my M4 (standard Army issue). Problem is I can only get the bottom rail on and not he top/side rails. I can fit the silver U tab into the front of the hand guard lip cover but the rear of the rail does not seat fully onto the gas tube.

Ideas? Do I need a special tool or just grab a hammer (thinking this is not a good thing)?

Did you unscrew the screw on the top rail? It allows the dingaling to hang down and go underneath the barrel nut, then you put the screw back in and tighten it up...

I've taken the screw out but it seems that if i screw it down hard enought it'll pinch the gas tube, I'll give that another try though.

I just put one on myself just 10 minute ago.  It took me damn near 30 minutes.  I Was having the exact same problem as you.  You need to take the screw out and make sure the little dangling piece is all the way down and goes under the barrel nut and it just popped right in for me.  I was hitting it and everything and once I realized that little dangling thing was in the way and saw that it is supposed to go underneath the nut it popped right in without me even hitting it.  It just takes a lot of wiggling around but it will go all the way in.  I was sweating and everything trying to put this thing on.  I got a blister on my thumb as well.  You'll eventually get it bro.

Got thanks guys! Big help. Just flipped it upside down and pushed it in enough to get it going. Kind of like prom night.
