Hey guys I'm kinda new to the AR platform. I have had one for about two years now but am just now getting around to putting some up grades on it. I am asking what ya'll would recommend for a rail system. Would ya'll prefer drop-in or free float? And what system is the best bang for the buck? Thanks!

I prefer a free float rail. I also prefer a MLOK system but others might say Keymod.  Here are just a few I would go recommend.

SLR Rifleworks
Fortis Mfg.
BCM
Geissele
Aero Precision
Spikes
Troy Industries
Midwest Industries
Knights Armament
Daniel Defense
Seekins
YHM

Many, many others.

Take a look at Primary Arms or Rainier Arms...they have a large selection of rails from many mfg's.

I prefer quad rails. DD Omega X or lite rails.

I used a Troy 13" free float 2 piece that allows you to install using the factory barrel nut. It has a minimum 1/16" clearance at any given point. It helped my accuracy dramatically shooting off a bench with a bipod. The bipod is attached forward of the sight tower with a Harris swivel kit piece.  It looks good as well. I had the bipod attached to the factory hand guard prior to installing the new Troy rail. It was too high, and not very steady for me.

Do freefloat. Slr rifleworks is awesome. Todd is a great guy and he can cut you custom lengths if you want. I would do mlok just because it seems like a simpler system. I have an slr intrepid in mlok and couldn't be happier.
