I'm building a 16" and 18" upper and I'm trying to decide which rail to go with.  I like the continuous top rail and I don't like the delta rings so I won't have one.

I have a couple of Samson rails and they're not bad, but I was looking at the DD RISII.  Looks like the mounting system is pretty tight.  Does anyone have any experience with these or any others they want to throw in the mix.

I'm probably going Low Pro and rifle length so front sights will also be thrown into the equation.

Thanks

I'm a big fan of DD and Troy.  You can't go wrong with either of them.

For continuous top, I've used MI and Troy.  I think the Troy is more solid and a lot nicer.  I've got the MRF-MX, which is the 10" and use it with a low-pro gas block.  It's a mid-length, so the block sticks out a bit.  On a carbine, it sits about an inch back.

looks like the Troy and Samson have similar locking systems.  Troy looks a little less $$$ though. Think I'm going to try a rifle length Troy and their front sight.  Haven't looked at the MI's yet.

I've used the DD Omega on my LMTs.  Locks up tight, but needs a Delta.  However, you will have a continuous rail surface.  No front sight removal and free float too...

Just say no to Samson. They stole the Troy design. Troy sued and won. So get the Troy or the MI.

There are two sides to every story and this story is OLD. I also can't believe a MOD would openly bash an Industry Partner/Site Supporter

I have had the MI and it very solid.  I have a DD lite and it is solid but lighter and smaller diameter which I now know I like better.  Both are good!

He is only speaking the truth.  There is two sides to every story and the courts ruled in favor of Troy's side of the story considering it is there design.  Troy is an excellent company with excellent quality products.

Lancelot is a mod not site staff, he should be able to freely express his opinion like any one of us, and I will second what he said.
