I recently put a post on here about laser range finders. It got no replies in several days. Now I can't even find the post. Have I done something wrong on this forum & everyone is choosing to ignore me? My last 2 posts got very little to no responses. All I want is a recommendation from someone that is familiar wit them. I am thinking about buying one. I have been reading up on sales sites, but wanted some real world advice.
Thanks, Mark |

I think you'll get exactly what you pay for on rangefinders. I had an old Bushnell 800 that was ok but even with the internal light option, it was difficult to read in low light. So I bit on a Leica CRF900 and it is fantastic with the red LED display. I have been able to range my neighbor's house "thru" my living room window, go over to the open doorway and get the same distance - I find that pretty neat. The objective on the Leica is a bit larger than most so it's brighter and the optics are as good as what half the public carries for binoculars - ymmv. It will range off of trees, leaves, bushes, a patch of ground in the field, it's remarkable what this unit will sense. I don't live out west where I'd be shooting hundreds of yards at elevated positions so the angle compensation is useless to me for bowhunting and woodchucks. Good luck. |
