Got up early and hit the gunshow. Found some barnaul 62 grains for cheap, bought 500 rds. Went from there to the outdoor gunrange near the house to try her out. Way over crowded and over regulated, the place really sucked. They made me shoot at the 50yd benchrests because it's a rifle caliber. I was nervous first time shooting it to begin with, I figured 7" barrel at 50 yds, I'd probably hit somebody elses target haha. Plus its my first build, and some pistol builders report reliability/function issues. So I'm pretty scared, we were laughing about what happens if it just clicks? First shot, iron sights, 7" barrel, 50 yds. ... Click. omg. Cycle it out, 2nd round BANG! Oh thank god. Look thru the range scope and it's dead center on MY target! 10" low or so. I'm trying to pull my head back an additional 10" or so to get an accurate sight picture thru the iron sights. That's a LOOONG way to shoot with that short of a sight picture. If someone were to ask me how far this thing would be accurate I'd guess 50 yds is well outside it's capabilities. A couple adjustments later and I kept 30 rds on paper and about half of em in the orange 6" circle in the middle of it. I was really amazed. 300 rds later, not one single malfunction or misfire after the first round. Super impressed overall. Got home and wiped down the TiN bolt with a papertowel with no cleaners on it and it's shiney clean like new. Totally happy with how every single part functioned, and amazed at how accurate the lil beast is. Shot til dark and was also amazed how there was absolutely no muzzle flash or blast out of the kx3. If I had to build another pistol I think I'd do it exactly the same once again. Truly an awesome little shooter. Also very impressed with the barnaul ammo. I think it was around 120 bucks for 500 rds. I read a couple reviews of it that put it a bit above wolf military classic. Aside from being lacquered steel casings, I thought it was perfect. Shot great, left next to no gunk in my gun, 100% reliable (other than the first shot,,, weird), low smoke, low flash. Just awesome cheap blammo. Highly recommended, I'll buy some more noveske lower doublestar lpk ace pistol buffer tango down battle grip dpms TiN bolt group cmmg a2 upper cmmg 7.3" medcon a2 barrel Can't wait to shoot it from a standup position at closer range, probably indoor next time. :D Happy camper here. g |

Thanks for the report. I know I always hear about the terrible muzzle flash and report from the AR pistols, but I too have the KX3 and must say it is no worse than my 16" .308 I had....or some shotgun rounds...as far as report, and muzzle blast? Honestly not that impressive. I suspect these firearms are more useful than people wanna say. There is some serious hatred towards AR pistols..not sure why. Sure I would rather have a 16 or 20" AR to do damage...but in urban/vehicular/CQB environ the AR pistol should not be overlooked.... Anyway, cheers. PS. CMMG MOD4S 7.3 pistol. |

Yep, there were hundreds of people shooting there yesterday and my report was nothing to even attract attention. Until yesterday I thought I'd rather have a rifle too to do damage, but I can fit this thing a lot of places a rifle won't go, and now that I know I can hit 6" at 50 yds I'm a lot more excited about having it. May not have the stopping power out there, but I'd never shoot it that far to begin with. :) Couldn't be happier. g |
