I am wondering if there are any other scopes with the elevation compensating turrets like this one from Cabelas that might be of better quality.  It doesn't have the best reviews.

Cabelas Scope

I can't afford to get one with the laser range finder built in. hinking.gif  It will be for a .204 Ruger upper.

Thanks,

Jeff

That is not a rangefinding scope, it's there tactical model that comes with a variety of knobs marked in yardage increments for calibers and bullet weights. You will need to know your targets range in yards and dial in your elevation.

I bought a couple from there bargain cave closeouts in 2-7x32 Tacticals. $39.00ea. They came with a bunch of knobs 204,223,22-250 in various bullet weights. I have'nt mounted them though the 2-7's seem quite clear looking across the beanfield out back. There side focus higher magnification models 3-12,6-18 seem to have bad reviews though.

I see they raised the price $20.00 in the bargain cave

Thanks, you are right, I should have stated range adjusting turrets.  I'm starting to think the best way is to just get a mill-dot and practice at different yardages.

yes. A good mil-dot scope should fit your needs a little better. Though you can also range a target with a duplex reticle once you know it's demensions at 100 yds at various powers. Do a google under how to use duplex reticle to range target. You should find plenty of info.
