| I was wondering If I take my Aimpoint off my rifle and then put it back on will I have to re-zero again? |
| A different system obviously, but EoTech states a 1 moa max rezero for reinstallation of their sight. Assume that other systems would have similar capabilities and maybe because they are procurred by the military, the rezeroing limits may be imosed by government imposed requirements in whatever mil-spec covers these optics. |

Go to www.downrange.tv/show2 and watch video clips Part 2 & 3. It shows me shooting an 8" target at 50 yards off hand, removing the Aimpoint CompM4 w/LaRue mount (although I have demonstrated this with the Aimpoint QRPII mount) and Micro T-1 w/LaRue mount, throwing them across the range, having them thrown back, placing the sight back on the Noveske N4 Carbine (same Picatinny rail slot), then shooting same Point of Aim/Point of Impact. If you are a serious warrior and your sight can't do that then you should reconsider what you are using. Combat and LE patrol work is hard on the warrior and their equipment. You need to be able to trust your life to whatever equipment you are using, even if just for civilian defense. Is a civilian's life worth less or require less trust in their equipment?
FWIW, not an excuse but I could have shot a much tighter group but didn't have a spot to consistently place my red dot. I should have sprayed a small black 1" dot on the 8" plate. Still it is a good demo. I have performed this same demo at 200 yards with no shift in zero. A testimony to Aimpoint sights and a quality mounts like LaRue Tactical. S/F |
