| If I don't have a scope level or any level whatsoever, what is the easiest way to level it? Do I naturally look at the reticule, or look at the windage/elevation knobs in relation to other surfaces on the rifle and around it? |

I use the Stanley aluminum string levels and cut the hangers off. You can get them at any good hardware store. Place one on the rifle (flat area behind bolt on bolt rifles easier on the AR), level the rifle on your bench bags/rests - then place the other atop the elevation nob (once cover is remove) and level the scope to the rifle. Or, you can simply tie a weight to a string and suspend it from the ceiling and use the string; while sighting thru the scope to align the recticle w/ the string. mike ps - the top method is relatively inexpensive and a very accurate method of getting the scope and the rifle square with each other |
