On a standard AR16/M16 rear aperture flip sight; what distance is the large peep for and the small peep for?  If I recall, I read somewhere that the small peep automatically compensates for drop at a certain distance.

The larger or "0-2" sight is for low light and 0-200 meters. The smaller peep is for longer range shooting.
