I have to move my rear sight to the far right for the rifle to be sighted in. There is only a few more clicks right before I run out of adjustment. What is an acceptable amount of windage adjustment to sight in a rifle.

What kind of front sight are you using?

One of two things are commonly wrong that cause this.  One is the front sight tower being mounted off center and the other is when the barrel was assembled into the upper, through multiple ways the barrel indexing pin slot was widened and the barrel was assembled off center to the upper.  The latter is a simple fix.  Remove the gas tube and barrel nut.  Straighten the barrel up in the slot and peen the appropriate side of the slot and re assemble according to the -23

What kind of front sight are you using?


It is a standard front sight.
