What's the best rear sight to use in combination with a YHM flip-up gas block/front sight? Preferably a flip-up sight as I will have a scope mounted. I plan to use either an Armalite 1-piece mount or if I can get the cash a Larue and I usually don't shoot NTCH but close to that.

or an opinion as to what rear sight to get that would go with it?

I think any rear sight would go with the front sight. The armalite one piece mounts are lower than most (1.25 to center of scope) so you may need a really low rear sight to fit under the scope. I have a one inch armalite mount and ggg mad rear sight on the way so maybe I can give you something to go by when I get it set up. maxicon has a great writeup/comparison that he has a link to here in the optics forum. |
I would be interested in seeing the photo as I am in the market for a low-profile flip sight for my armalite 1" as well. |

I'm sure there are lower profile or better made buis. I'm going with the ggg mad because I think my eyesight needs the extra metal around the large peep. Right now I'm waiting on the mail for an armalite mount, buis, and 3-9x33 leupold (pretty much everything). I'll post a picture of it here in the optics forum titled "armalite one inch mount review" when I get all the pieces. |
