| This is a rookie question but I am reassembling my ar for the first time and I noticed that the firing pin will freely go to a certain point (about 1/4 " is exposed). I am able to gently push it down to where it is flush with the ramp. Do I pin it in the exposed or flush position? Thanks. |
| Pull the bolt out wards, now the firing pin won't be seen protruding on the bolt face. Put the extractor side of the bolt on the right side (ejection port) of the bolt carrier group. Once the bolt is stretched out, slip the firing pin in, all the way home then place the retaining pin. |
