Is there anything to what I'm hearing about it not being a good idea to swap a receiver, but not swap the bolt carrier group with it? I'm working with a Bushmaster with a 16" barrel and handled top. I'm wanting to go to the flat top receiver to bring my optics down to a more natural position. I'm happy with my barrel and can't see making the investment for a new upper, and dealing with the hassle of selling my other when good receivers can be had for $125. I'm looking at the DPMS Sportical receiver for its clean profile (link below). All I keep hearing is that I need to swap the whole upper, but to be quite frank I don't have that kind of money to throw at it right now. What are some things I should be aware of going forward on this? Thanks, -Tanner http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=821&cat=1704 |
I was quoted one hour's labor at $35 for my local gun smith to knock this out. |
