Today my platoon sergeant calls me up and tells me about some gear he's acquired over the years and wondering if I'm interested. Of all the stuff he had, this flashlight and carry handle are the only things I had interest in. $100 for everything. Carry handle has the Cardinal forge mark, and an older Surefire Scout with some fresh batteries he threw in. Even if I got hosed on the deal, I'm happy. The history, the Been There, Done That aspect is cool. He's been to Iraq and Afghanistan multiple times each.

Any info on the Scout? I've only seen recent ones where the head is much smaller. With fresh batteries its pretty bright, but no where near as bright as my new Scout back home.

Pretty good deal, I'd say.

The Scout is using the LU60A conversion head, which allows it to use the same incandescent head as the M95-series - often used with the IR filter, since the LED Scout didn't work too well with them.

The Scout body is a pretty decent score as is, and you can convert it to different models by changing out the bezel.
