Well I am stuck in a bit of a situation... I got a new Savage 10FP, so i took my Busnell 3-9x40 and attached it to the savage. Now my AR-15 does not have a scope, just irons. I went ahead and ordered a new Nikon 6.5-20x44 two weeks ago and I still have yet to see the scope. We leave this Saturday night for Wyoming for a 3 day praire dog hunt. So I thinking about going to pick up a cheap scope, BSA, simmons, barska, tasco you name it. Now should I keep the busnell on the Savage? Being .308 I am worried about the scope holding zero, I am looking at a Barska 4-16x50 at mc sports. I would assume I should attach this to my AR-15 because of the ligher recoil and I will be using the AR 90% of the time. I know its a sin to buy cheap optics but I was counting on my new Nikon making it here before we left. Also any suggestions for cheap but usable scopes? Thanks |
| If you have to put the barska on one of the two, then I would put it on the Savage. If the AR is going to be your primary, then put the optic you feel is more dependable on that weapon. If the barska does take a crap, at least the AR should still have a good zero. |
