I'm brand new to AR's and I just got one that has been put together at a gun-shop.  It has a CMMG 16" mid-length barrel with a Rock River low-profile gas block and mid-length hand-guards.  I'm looking for a float tube to install that has a sling stud.  I've been told that I can install a tube that will go over the gas block and cover it up which is what I would prefer.  Is that correct?  Any free float tube recommendations would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Any rifle-length forearm should cover your low-profile gas block on a Mid-length.

I have a YHM lightweight on my carbine-length gas system that I am happy with:

My favorite is the Daniel Defense Lite rail.

Here's a photo of one of my builds (6.8 SPC) using a RRA 16" barrelled upper with a low profile gas block and a mid-length alum free float tube.

Sling swivel works very well for bipod
