Well I bought a Nikon M223 1-4x, and I liked it at first, but now I'm strongly considering selling it. It has nothing to do with the quality of the glass, but I am not a huge fan of its appearance, and I also think I may want something with a little more magnification. Also, I want to sell the mount that I got with it so that I may purchase one from LaRue. Reports of their customer service have blown me away, and how could I not want to buy a great product made in Texas.
The scope will be used for hunting/target shooting. Target/range/plinkin will be either 50 or 100. Hunting will be mostly 50-100 yds at pigs, but I will occasionally have the opportunity to take some ~300 shots at coyotes. I'd like something that has the potential for fast target acquisition for pigs, but then I want to be able to get enough magnification for those longer shots. I was thinking possible a 2-7 or 3-9, but I am not set on one and would like opinions. I'm young, and I have pretty good eyesight. Budget is ~$200-500. If I can buy it at Academy, I will go up a little higher. Thanks for looking and I appreciate the responses. |
