I read a book by an officer who was in at the beginning of the Air Force Forward Air Controller program, I'll look for it.

their is a book that was mentioned in another thread about survival. It had some good info from the 9/11 attacks. It was brought up dut to the cruise ship sinking. I want to add it to my reading list.

I don't think that's the book, it was about how the FAC was formed & the in service rivals that had to be over come.
Can't recall the member that posted it, but it was right after someone asked if FAC used the GAU 5/A
Your book, however, still looks like a must have.

If you like WWII books I would go with Last Stand Of The Tin Can Sailors and Neptune's Inferno.  Both by James Hornfischer.
I second Marine Sniper and also the follow on book to it, Silent Warrior.  I also like Dear Mom: A Sniper's Vietnam as was already mentioned earlier.
