| I have an M15A2... I'm looking for a good scope... What is MOA? I would like a red dot with a little magnification. I would also like to still be able to use the iron sights without removing the scope. I've seen mounts where you put the scope in front of the carry handle. I want to try and keep it under $150 (just the scope).. What would you guys recommend to be the best scope to fit my criteria? And if you have a good used one laying around, I wouldn't mind taking it off your hands. Thanks |

MOA: www.shootingtimes.com/optics/moast_040407/ FWIW: you wont find anything of any quality and useability outside of the range imo for under $300 (IOR) for~$150, you will be looking to either a chicom made scope or a mediocre traditional scope |
I just dont understand the difference between a 1X red dot thats $400 and one thats $100. |
Well I have seen under $100 red dots with the following problmes/issues... Not water tight Poor battery life Controls fail to work/break Illumination does not work on certain settings Bad battery contacts require you to tap the sight to get it to work and recoil occasionally turns it off Multi LED reticles with some of the LEDs going out I am sure there are many more but those are the ones I have seen first hand with sights I have used or owned. Suck it up and buy a used ML2 off the EE. Thats my advice. |
Ok i got ya... But I'm not looking to go into battle or join any type of competition... I have a range where I stand there or sit and shoot 50-100 yards. max 50-100 rounds per session... I have a recoil compensator so the recoil is minimal... Now takeing that into consideration what would you say is a good scope? or a good brand at least? I used to have a Sightron red dot that was $200 on my Beretta CX4 (which has more recoil than my AR) and it never failed. I just want something different. Sorry, please bare with me, I'm a gun rookie. First gun was just purchased in September. Then I got addicted..lol... Thanks |

I just purchased a couple of $69.00 Millet 30mm 5MOA RD's for the Armalite sale uppers I'd bought. I mounted them in the cheap CAA Cantaliver 30mm mounts both from Midway. I can tell a differance in the definition of the dot from my friends Aimpoint, the Millets is fairly fuzzy compared to the Aimpoint to me anyways. I could still aquire the target fairly quick with this set up. I can't speak for durability of the Millets, time will tell. When I squander a few buck's away they'll be replace with Weaver 1x3's ( probably )and rear BUIS. I kinda prefer a lower magnification scope for my uses. |
