I'm looking for a way to mount a red dot without using a riser that takes up the entire top of my rifle.  I have seen the bushmaster mounting blocks but wonder if anyone has seen anything else that will give the extra height i need to co witness without it looking to bulky?  Any help is much appreciated.

YHM makes some inexpensive risers that aren't bulky and come in various lengths.  They don't feel as sturdy as the heavy, bulky ones (go figure!), but mine holds fine when I get it cranked down.

Thanks for the tip, saw one of the A.R.M.S mounts that might work for me but I'm still looking.

I may have some ideas...
Specifically, what red dot, and are you mounting it on the receiver's flat top?

After much debating I am going with a  bushnell holosight instead of a red dot.  I found one for a great price new. It will give me the look I want and if I can figure out how to put the eotech hood on it to protect it then I will have a sturdy optic.

Why not just get the eotech?
