This may qualify as a pretty dumb question, but should the dot viewed through the scope be just that...a nice solid red dot? I used a red dot for the first time this past Sunday, and the scope that I have (Vortex StrikeFire) kinda showed a bunch on mini-dots in a tight circle with no color in the middle. I know this is not one of the better red dot's, but it should still be consistent as to how the scope is supposed to perform. They (Vortex) will fix it if it is a problem, but being new to this type of a scope I thought I should ask.

Send it back so they can make it right.  Vortex is a stand-up company with good warranty service.  I have one of their scopes on my 18" SPR and I really like it......good glass in a really well built optic.
